About the Programme
The CANEX Music Business Lab & Songwriting Camp is a four-day programme at CANEX WKND 2026, delivered in partnership with the Creative Industries Initiative for Africa (CIIFA), dedicated to the business behind the music. The programme follows a song from the moment it is written to the moment it starts to earn.
The two masterclasses explore how music is created, owned and sold, from split sheets and distribution to royalties, sync licensing, brand partnerships and live performance.
The programme ends with a two-day Songwriting Camp, where a cohort of Lagos-based creators writes and records new music alongside producers and sound engineers.
Create. Learn. Earn.
From protecting your creative rights to building sustainable revenue and recording new music, each session takes you one step further.
Thursday 5 November
13:00–14:30

Saturday 7 – Sunday 8 November
10:00–17:00 each day
