CANEX Shorts Competition

An annual short film competition open to African filmmakers and those in the Diaspora under 35, celebrating excellence across categories such as Best Fiction, Best Documentary, and Best Animation. Winners receive cash prizes and the opportunity for screenings at flagship CANEX events, fostering global exposure and industry connections.

CANEX Shorts Screening

CANEX Shorts Screening is a curated showcase of the Top 30 selected short films chosen through the CANEX Shorts competition. During CANEX WKND, these films are officially screened as part of the Film programme, providing filmmakers with continental visibility and direct exposure to industry stakeholders.The screening platform offers: ● Public exhibition of selected films ● Access to producers, distributors, and investors ● Audience engagement and industry feedback ● Elevated positioning within the CANEX creative ecosystem
