future tech live entertainment training & internship programme

A hands-on technical training and internship programme designed for aspiring live entertainment technicians in Lagos, Nigeria. Selected candidates will complete a 2-day intensive workshop before being deployed as part of the CANEX WKND 2026 production crew for the full duration of the event.

Participants will gain certified, verified experience working on one of Africa's largest creative industry gatherings, alongside seasoned professionals in sound, lighting, stagecraft, AV production, and general production.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

PHASE ONE: Oct 29–30
Oct 29 - 30

2-Day Intensive Workshop

Theory, safety protocols, and hands-on practical sessions covering sound engineering basics, lighting design and operation, stagecraft fundamentals, and live system integration. Ends with a final assessment for internship selection.

PHASE TWO:

Nov 1–8

CANEX WKND Internship

Selected candidates are deployed to specific production teams across all CANEX WKND venues, working full days under professional mentorship for the entire duration of the event.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Online Application & Assessment

All candidates apply online. Shortlisted applicants will complete a technical and aptitude test before final selection of the top 25.

WHAT YOU WALK AWAY WITH

CERTIFIED EXPERIENCE

All 25 participants receive a verified Certificate of Completion from the CANEX WKND programme.

INDUSTRY-READY SKILLS

Practical training designed to prepare participants for immediate employment or freelance work in live entertainment.

REAL EVENT EXPERIENCE

Work on one of Africa's biggest creative industry events, alongside professionals from across the continent.
