Charlie KOFFI

About the Speaker

Chef Kouakou Charlie Isidore KOFFI, born on 30th December 1993 in Toumodi (Côte d'Ivoire), is an Ivorian chef who reimagines African cuisine by blending traditional flavours with modern culinary techniques. His journey, which began in France under the tutelage of renowned Versailles chefs, has led him to develop a unique style that reflects both his African roots and his openness to global culinary trends. At just 20 years old, he became head chef at Château La Chèze in Bordeaux. where he masterfully enhances local ingredients with a touch of innovation.

Upon returning to Côte d'Ivoire, Chef KOFFI continues his mission to elevate Ivorian products through his two restaurants, Villa ALFIRA and Le Chalet du Chef. These establishments have become spaces where gastronomy and art converge, allowing Chef KOFFI to explore new flavor combinations while showcasing African culture.

His role as an ambassador for Ivorian gastronomy has earned him the honour of being selected by the Ivorian Minister of Tourism to represent his country at numerous international events. He has also collaborated with international brands and appeared on culinary shows such as Recettes d’Afrique and Le Défi Gourmand Dinor. He strives to demonstrate to the world that African ingredients can be used to create refined and innovative cuisine.

Beyond the kitchen, Chef KOFFI is a fervent supporter of young African artists, promoting their work in his establishments and further strengthening the connection between culinary art and African cultural identity.
As a guest at CANEX WKND 2024, Chef KOFFI embodies the spirit of this event, which celebrates African creative excellence. His journey is a living testament to Africa's ability to reinvent itself while remaining deeply rooted in its traditions. He is honoured to contribute to this gathering, which highlights the dynamism of African creativity on the international stage.
